The President of Uzbekistan noted the expanding partnership with UN institutions

On April 27, as part of the program of the second Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe (EEC) Olga Algaerova.

The issues of developing multifaceted cooperation with UN institutions, including the EEC, to accelerate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals were considered.

The fruitful cooperation within the framework of the UN Special Program for the Countries of the Central Asian Region was noted with satisfaction. Interest was expressed in continuing productive exchange on Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization, as well as the implementation of the Yashil Makon program, digitalization projects for cargo transportation and the textile industry.

Issues of further expansion of cooperation with the UNECE in priority areas were discussed at the meeting.
