The President of Uzbekistan called for the development of full-scale cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation

On April 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the head of the Asian Football Confederation Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

The Head of our state sincerely congratulated Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa on his re-election as President of the Continental Confederation, noting his personal contribution to the popularization of this sport in the Asian region.

The fruitful partnership of our country with the Confederation was emphasized with particular satisfaction. Joint programs and projects are being implemented for the development of football, the broad involvement of young people, and the training of highly qualified specialists.

Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa highly appreciated the large-scale work carried out in Uzbekistan to comprehensively support amateur and professional football, create a modern infrastructure and educational base. I sincerely congratulated you on the successful holding of the Asian Youth Championships in our country and the recent victory of the national team.

During the meeting, issues of further expansion of practical cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation were discussed, including the organization and holding of major events, including women's and youth championships, popularization of this sport, the introduction of best practices and methodological assistance, professional development of coaches.
