The President of Uzbekistan received the delegation of Italy

On April 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Defense of the Italian Republic Guido Crozetto, who is in our country on a visit.

The issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Italian multifaceted relations are considered.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Defense Department conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan the sincere greetings and best wishes of Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Giorgi Meloni.

The current high level of bilateral cooperation was noted with satisfaction. A constructive political dialogue is developing. Over the past few years, the volume of mutual trade and investment has doubled. There are branches of leading Italian universities in our country - the Turin Polytechnic and the University of Pisa.

Joint preparations are underway for upcoming events at the highest level.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to practical cooperation in the field of energy, including renewable energy, logistics, agriculture and other industries.

The Head of our state noted the importance of establishing partnership relations between the defense departments of Uzbekistan and Italy.

The sides also exchanged views on ensuring regional stability and security, including the peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
