Issues of expanding practical cooperation, supporting and promoting cooperation projects, introducing innovations and advanced technologies, as well as other aspects of further deepening Uzbek-Turkish relations of comprehensive strategic partnership were on the agenda of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the delegation of the Republic of Turkey headed by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank on April 12.
The Turkish delegation arrived in our country on behalf of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to demonstrate and transfer the first national electric car under the brand "Togg".
The Head of our state noted with particular satisfaction the current high dynamics of bilateral cooperation, the intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges at all levels.
As an example, the steady growth of trade turnover, the joint implementation of a number of major investment projects in priority sectors, and an increase in the frequency of regular flights between the two countries were cited.
The broad opportunities for the development of industrial cooperation by involving leading Turkish companies in the implementation of projects, including in the automotive industry, were noted.
Particular attention was paid to the thorough preparation of the next meeting of the top-level Strategic Cooperation Council, including the formation of a portfolio of promising projects and the adoption of a long-term industrial program.
At the end of the meeting, a presentation of the electric car "Togg" took place, during which Minister Mustafa Varank spoke in detail about the technical characteristics of the vehicle and solemnly handed over its keys.
The leader of our country, expressing gratitude, sincerely congratulated the President and the people of Turkey on a great achievement in the field of mechanical engineering – the launch of industrial production of an electric car.
The head of our state got behind the wheel and personally tested an electric car, among the first to come off the assembly line of a Turkish manufacturer.
