Briefing in Beijing: Chinese experts are familiar with the reforms in Uzbekistan

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing has organized a briefing on constitutional reform in Uzbekistan for representatives of representatives of a number of leading analytical centers of the PRC.

The event was attended by experts from the Center for Strategic Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Institute of Economic Research and the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The participants were provided with detailed information about the essence of reforms in Uzbekistan and the positive results achieved.

They were informed about the importance of amendments to the new version of the Constitution for the future of Uzbekistan.

Chinese experts noted that the updated Constitution will mark an important historical stage for the new Uzbekistan and a new period of development.

Chief Expert of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Su Chan:

- First of all, I congratulate our friends and partners from Uzbekistan on the national holiday of Uzbekistan Navruz.

The introduction of amendments and additions to the Constitution of Uzbekistan is a historical and natural process. Noting that during the general discussions of the constitutional bill, more than 220 thousand proposals were received, and most of them were included in the draft, this is a simple proof that the Basic Law will literally become the people's Constitution.

The current situation in international relations, the effective use of emerging opportunities and amendments to the Constitution of Uzbekistan, taking into account modern requirements to ensure the consistency of reforms, are a necessary need for the country.

Senior Researcher at the Institute of Russia, Northern Europe and Central Asia Li Ruixi:

- The reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev correspond to the processes of global development.

The draft amendments include the message that Uzbekistan is a social state, special attention is paid to the environmental rights of people. This once again demonstrates Uzbekistan's commitment to sustainable development goals.

In recent years, Sino-Uzbek relations have been developing dynamically. We, scientists, warmly welcome the expansion of political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our friends from Uzbekistan on Navruz.

Professor of the Institute of Economic Research Zhang Qi:

- Chinese scientists are following the reforms in Uzbekistan and the results achieved with great interest. First of all, human interests are at the center of reforms, and the principle of "for human dignity" is of paramount importance. China and Uzbekistan have a lot in common in the process of reforms, for example, the principle of human interests above all lies at the heart of the development of our country.

In the amendments and additions to the Constitution, the provision of human rights and freedoms is defined as the highest duty of the state, the state undertakes a number of new obligations to reduce poverty, provide employment, protect against unemployment, in particular, there is a tripling of the norms of social obligations of the state.
