On February 14, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Natalia German, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, who is completing her mission in this post.
The Head of our state noted with particular satisfaction the fruitful cooperation with the Regional Center and other UN structures in the development of constructive dialogue and multifaceted cooperation in Central Asia.
It was stressed that over the past few years, at the initiative of our country and with the support of the entire international community, four General Assembly resolutions on the most relevant areas of partnership in the region have been adopted.
With the direct participation of the center, a number of major international forums and meetings have been jointly organized in Uzbekistan. In addition, platforms for Dialogue between women leaders of Central Asia and the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy for Youth have been launched.
Natalia German expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for his important initiatives that contributed to strengthening the atmosphere of friendship, good-neighborliness and trust in the region, expanding practical cooperation.
The UN High Representative assured that in her new position as head of the Executive Structure of the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the United Nations Security Council, she will continue to promote the continuation of close cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of ensuring regional security and stability.
