Condolences on the death of the national poet of Uzbekistan Enahon Siddikova

Literature and culture of Uzbekistan have suffered a heavy loss. On January 13 of this year, the People's poet of Uzbekistan, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Enahon Siddikova died at the age of 68.

Enahon Siddikova was born on August 28, 1954 in the Altyaryk district of the Fergana region. In 1976 she graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Fergana State Pedagogical Institute (now – Fergana State University).

She started her career in 1976 as a teacher, worked as a teacher of Uzbek language and literature, director in schools of Altyaryk and Ferghana districts. For several years, she held responsible positions in the khokimiyats of the Ferghana district and the Ferghana region, made a worthy contribution to improving the living and working conditions of women, social protection of families, mothers and children, and the upbringing of a harmoniously developed generation.

At the same time, she became famous as a talented poet and an active public figure. Dozens of such collections, which have become the fruits of her many years of creative research, as "Korakyz turnalar", "Kynglim ufklari", "Syz ustidagi dune", "Ezozli aellar", "She ҳakida kyshik", "Barkhanlarda ungan gul", in which the poetess masterfully sang the feelings of love and devotion to her native country, our ancient values, have taken a worthy place in the hearts of readers.

From 2001 to the present, Enakhon Siddikova has been active as the head of the Fergana regional branch of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan. In this position, she made a great contribution to the development of literature, culture and art in the region, as well as increasing the spirituality of our people, widely promoting science and reading in the field. She has educated hundreds of young students and comprehensively helped them realize their potential.

The poetess showed special dedication in creating and establishing a school of creativity named after the Hero of Uzbekistan, the great Uzbek poet Erkin Vakhidov in the Fergana region.

As a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan since 2015, she has made a great contribution to strengthening our independence, developing the system of parliamentarism in the country, developing and implementing important laws in the field of social and spiritual development.

The merits of Enahon Siddikova in the development of Uzbek literature and culture were appreciated by our state. She was awarded the honorary title "People's Poet of Uzbekistan", she was awarded the orders "El-yurt hurmati" and "Dostlik".

The memory of the outstanding poetess, caring teacher, sincere and humble person Enahon Siddikova will forever remain in our hearts.
