
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 28, a group of distinguished representatives of culture, art, and literature was awarded state honors.
An award ceremony was held today at the International Congress Center in Tashkent, attended by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Addressing the ceremony, the Head of State emphasized that a country’s strength is determined not only by its economic achievements, but also by its spirituality, culture, literature, and art.
“The voice of a nation with rich literature, heartfelt music, meaningful theater, powerful and inspiring cinema, and captivating art will always carry weight in the world,” the President said.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that, in the process of building a New Uzbekistan, a broad spiritual and cultural environment is being created to foster the spiritual and moral development of individuals. He highlighted the invaluable contribution of the intelligentsia, writers and poets, cultural and artistic figures, as well as representatives of the creative industries to this process.
The President further noted that, thanks to the selfless work of creative individuals, national self-awareness is strengthening in society, people's outlook is broadening, and the ideals of kindness, patriotism, and humanism are taking deeper root in the hearts of young people.
The Head of State expressed satisfaction that 167 outstanding representatives of culture, art, and literature had been honored with high state awards. The fact that the recipients include writers and poets, singers and musicians, masters of dance, opera performers and composers, theater, cinema, and circus figures, bakhshi and askiya masters, artisans and artists, employees of cultural heritage institutions, museums and libraries, as well as educators and mentors who, through many years of dedicated and fruitful work, have made a significant contribution to developing the cultural, artistic, and intellectual potential of our people, is a source of pride for us all.
At the same time, a special tribute was paid to the cherished memory of outstanding figures of literature, culture, and art who have passed away but continue to live on in the hearts of the people through their words, songs, melodies, and lives devoted to creativity. Twenty-four of them were posthumously awarded state honors.
“Recognizing the merits of every individual in our country, even after they have passed away, is our moral duty. This reflects the spiritual values of our people, who deeply honor the memory of their ancestors,” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
The President presented honorary titles, orders, and medals to the recipients.
On behalf of the people of Uzbekistan, the Head of State sincerely congratulated the awardees and expressed confidence that this high recognition would inspire them to new creative achievements.
Figures of culture and art expressed their gratitude for the great respect and attention shown to culture and the arts, as well as for the broad opportunities being created to promote cultural development and support creative professionals.
