President of Uzbekistan supports further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation with Russia

On April 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President warmly congratulated Valentina Matviyenko on her birthday, extending his sincere wishes for strong health, happiness, well-being, and continued success.

Particular satisfaction was expressed with the active role of the two countries’ parliaments in expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.

Meetings of the Commission on Cooperation between the upper chambers of both parliaments are held annually, and effective interaction has been established within the framework of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.

In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan reaffirmed his support for the further development of close and fruitful inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
