
Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing held a lecture for faculty and students at Renmin University, one of China's leading universities.
The event, dedicated to the current development of Uzbek-Chinese relations, was attended by leading experts from Renmin University's National Institute for Development and Strategic Studies, the Institute of European and Central Asian Studies, and the School of International Relations, as well as students from the university.
The participants were briefed on the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan across all spheres of public and social life, which are reflected in key development programs, including the Action Strategy for 2017-2021, the Development Strategy for 2022-2026, and the "Uzbekistan 2030" Strategy. The event also outlined the priorities for an all-round strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China.
Participants focused on the outcomes of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held on November 16 in Tashkent.
Professor Liu Xiaoguang, Deputy Director of the National Institute for Development and Strategic Studies, noted that the heads of state reached a number of important agreements in 2024 and raised the level to an all-round comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. These agreements have given impetus to the development of Uzbek-Chinese relations and opened new spaces for civilized dialogue between the countries.
As a first-class university, Renmin University is committed to fulfilling the lofty mission of promoting humanistic dialogue in education and advancing ideas for future development. The Chinese university intends to collaborate with all parties to achieve consensus through exchanges and mutual learning. In the context of an era of global change, it is necessary to strengthen mutual understanding and build consensus through education, thinking, and cooperation.
It was noted that a delegation led by the university's rector, Li Shanli, will visit Uzbekistan and strengthen partnerships with the National University of Uzbekistan, launching new educational projects.
