In Beijing, compatriots and diplomats celebrated Uzbek Language Day

Our country's Embassy in Beijing organized a spiritual and educational event to mark October 21st – Uzbek Language Day.

The event, timed to coincide with the 36th anniversary of Uzbek being designated as the state language, was attended by Uzbek students from Chinese universities, compatriots working and temporarily residing in the country, and Embassy staff.

The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan. Speakers noted that in recent years, a new stage has begun in the development of the Uzbek language in our country, enhancing its role and influence in our lives. In particular, the declaration of October 21st as Uzbek Language Day was a memorable and historic event. Decrees, resolutions, and regulations aimed at enhancing the prestige and status of the state language have been adopted, and a concept and a separate program for 2020–2030 are being implemented.

It was emphasized that the establishment of the International Olympiad in Uzbek Language and Literature among students from abroad also serves to widely promote our native language. Today, approximately 50 million people worldwide speak Uzbek. It was especially noted that this beautiful and engaging language is being studied with great enthusiasm in many countries.

The event participants emphasized the current importance of preserving and developing the language, culture, and values of the various peoples and ethnic groups living in our country.

During discussions with compatriots, they received detailed answers to all their questions. The evening included a presentation of books in the Uzbek language and an exhibition of national costumes, fine art, and cuisine.
