Closing ceremony of the Asian Winter Games was held in Harbin

The closing ceremony of the IX Asian Winter Games was held yesterday in the Chinese city of Harbin.

The Chinese team won 32 gold medals in the overall standings and took first place. In total, the Chinese team won 85 awards.

In second place was South Korea with 45 medals, 16 of which were gold. Japan took third place, having earned 10 gold medals and a total of 37 awards.

The figure skaters of the Uzbek team Dmitry Chigirev and Ekaterina Geinish, performing in the pair program, with their brilliant participation rose to the highest step of the podium in the Chinese sports arena and won the first gold medal in this discipline. Thanks to this award, the delegation of our country took fifth place in the overall standings after China, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Kazakhstan.

The IX Asian Winter Games were held from February 7 to 14. They were attended by 1.3 thousand athletes from 34 countries and regions of Asia. These are the largest games on the continent in terms of the number of participating delegations and athletes.

The next Asian Winter Games will be held in 2029 in Saudi Arabia.
