The opening ceremony of the Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in China was held in Beijing.
The event was organized by the Embassy of our country in China, the Committee on Tourism of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the International Tourism Organization (UN-Tourism).
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Chinese ministries and departments, major travel companies, cultural organizations, journalists and bloggers.
During the event, the participants were provided with information about the reforms implemented in the tourism sector in Uzbekistan in recent years, the favorable conditions created for foreign tourists, the tourism potential and opportunities of our country.
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Lu Yingchuan noted that Uzbekistan is becoming an attractive tourist destination for Chinese citizens.
In his speech, UN Secretary-General for Tourism Zurab Polikashvili noted that Uzbekistan is a country with high tourism potential and noted that the Organization will actively continue close cooperation with our country in the field of tourism.
During the event, a business forum on tourism and investments, presentations, and B2B meetings were held.
The guest was also presented with a concert program, which included Uzbek national songs and dances performed by Uzbek artists. The guests were also invited to a traditional Uzbek dastarkhan, which served dishes of national cuisine.
As part of the Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in China, it is planned to organize various cultural, tourist and economic events, visits, screenings of special reports in Chinese media in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Chengdu and many other cities.
Recall that on December 1, 2024, the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and China Bakhtiyor Saidov and Wang Yi signed an intergovernmental agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements.
Under the terms of the agreement, citizens are exempt from the visa requirement for entry, exit or transit through the territories of the two states for up to 30 days. The said international agreement shall enter into force after the completion by the parties of the necessary domestic procedures.
