On October 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Orkhan Sultanov, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who is in our country on a working visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Azerbaijani agency conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Leader of our country.
Issues of further deepening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of alliance and multifaceted cooperation in the context of implementation of agreements at the highest level were discussed.
The sides noted with special satisfaction the ongoing intensive contacts and fruitful exchanges at different levels, the steady growth of mutual trade and investment indicators, the steps taken by the sides to support and accelerate cooperation projects, holding events in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
Attention was drawn to the importance of strengthening close inter-agency co-operation and effective coordination of intelligence services in combating terrorism, extremism and radicalism, cybercrime and other modern security challenges.
The issues of expanding practical cooperation aimed at assisting Afghanistan's economic development were also discussed.
