The delegation of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, headed by Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva, paid an official visit to the People's Republic of China.
The visit took place as part of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during negotiations between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in January and July this year.
Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva held bilateral meetings with a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, with a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the National Committee of the People's Political Consultative Council of China Wang Huning, as well as a member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Chairman of the National Women's Federation Shen Yiqin.
The sides stressed the historical significance of the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to China in January this year, during which the Leaders of the two states raised the level of Uzbek-Chinese relations to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in a new era.
During the talks held in Beijing, a wide range of issues related to deepening cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in political, trade, economic, educational and other spheres were discussed. Significant potential for further development of cooperation in all areas of bilateral relations was noted.
Special attention is paid to the prospects for further intensification of interparliamentary relations through the exchange of visits by the delegations of the Oliy Majlis and the National People's Congress, as well as constructive interaction on various multilateral platforms and platforms.
A special place was given to the dialogue and cooperation between the two countries on gender issues, which in recent years has become an important component of Uzbek-Chinese relations. Agreements have been reached on filling the interaction of the two countries in this direction with new practical content through the implementation of joint socially significant projects between the Committee of Family and Women of Uzbekistan and the All-China Federation of Women.
In accordance with the program of the visit, the Uzbek side held a meeting with the leadership and teaching staff of Peking University, and also visited a number of educational and social facilities.
