Elections 2024: Round Table in China

A round table was held at the Embassy of our country in Beijing with the participation of compatriots dedicated to the upcoming elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Kengashi of People's Deputies of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by Uzbek students studying at Chinese universities, more than 40 compatriots employed in temporary jobs, as well as Uzbek language lovers from China.

They were informed about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, in particular, about the state policy in the field of cooperation with compatriots abroad and their support.

It was emphasized that the upcoming elections will be held in a completely new socio-political environment defined by the updated Constitution of Uzbekistan. For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, they will be held on the basis of a mixed electoral system - majority-proportional. A new system of electoral bodies will be introduced, headed by the Central Election Commission, and the proportion of women candidates for deputies from political parties will be at least 40 percent.

Lobarkhon Rasulova, lecturer at Tsinghua University:

– Today we took part in a round table dedicated to the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Councils of People's Deputies, which will be held on October 27.

Thanks to the event, we learned that the upcoming elections are being held under the slogan "My choice is my prosperous Homeland." We were provided with information about the elections and participation in them. In particular, it was explained that the difference between these elections and the previous ones is that for the first time there was an opportunity to monitor the electoral process through the "E-Saylov" system.

We compatriots who are in China will vote at the polling station organized at the embassy.

Azizbek Gayratov, student of Beijing University of Graphic Information:

– For young people like us, such an event is a great opportunity to get information and share ideas.

It was useful for everyone to know that our compatriots in China can come to the polling stations organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the consulates General in Shanghai and Guangzhou and vote using their constitutional rights.

Milka Kouadio-Kessy, student at the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (Ivory Coast):

– I am very glad to visit the embassy today with my friends from Uzbekistan. We have received interesting information about important events in your country.

I would also like to say that I was very impressed by the high results achieved by Uzbek athletes at the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris. We were also fans of Uzbek athletes.

I really like Uzbekistan and its people. His hospitality and hard work are amazing.

Yang Fan, Director of the Beijing Lehesin International Travel Service Travel Company:

– In recent years, our company has been working closely with Uzbekistan.

We took part in the round table and received information about the huge changes and large-scale reforms being implemented in various fields in your country.

I would also like to say that such cities of Uzbekistan as Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva are known all over the world. The rich culture, traditions, tourist opportunities and especially delicious food will appeal to any tourist.
