President to Participate at the Heads of Central Asian States Summit



On July 21, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, will participate in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States in the city of Cholpon-Ata in Kyrgyzstan.

The Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are also expected to take part at the summit under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.

The agenda of the meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries has the issues of further expansion of practical cooperation, including in trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, innovation, food security, tourism, cultural and humanitarian exchange and other areas.

A special attention shall be paid to strengthening the interactions in a joint response to modern challenges and threats to the stability and sustainable development of Central Asia.

On the outcomes of the summit, several important multilateral documents shall be adopted.

It should be emphasized that the initiative to hold a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The first summit of the leaders of the region was held in March 2018 in Nur-Sultan, the second – in November 2019 in Tashkent, the third meeting – in August last year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
