On June 6, the signing ceremony of the Agreement on the implementation of the strategic project for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway took place in Beijing.
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a video message to the participants of the event.
The Leader of our state emphasized that the launch of this crucial infrastructure project is a historic event aimed at strengthening economic and transport connectivity in a vast region.
- This railway will be the shortest ground "shoulder" connecting China with our region. In the future, this road will make it possible to exit through the promising Trans-Afghan Corridor to the markets of the South Asian and Middle Eastern countries, - said the Head of our state.
The economic impact of the project will be the creation of new enterprises and tens of thousands of jobs, a multiple increase in the volume of mutual trade and the scale of industrial cooperation, investment attractiveness, and, most importantly, an increase in the standard of living of the population.
According to the agreement, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will follow the Kashgar-Torugart-Makmal-Jalalabad-Andijan route.
According to experts, the annual volume of freight traffic on this route can be up to 15 million tons, and the time of delivery of goods to the final consumers will be reduced by 7 days. In addition, modern transit and logistics infrastructure, warehouses and terminals will be established.
