The Buddhist Association of China hosted a presentation of Buddhist monuments of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with Buddhist tradition, the Buddha's birthday celebration ceremony was held at the Guan Tzu Temple in Beijing.
The event was attended by the leadership of the State Administration for Religious Affairs of China, about 30 foreign diplomatic missions in Beijing, media representatives and more than 5 thousand Buddhists from different regions of the country.
Chairman of the Buddhist Association of China Yang Jue congratulated all the Buddhist communities of the country and spoke about the history of the origin, development and role of Buddhism in modern Chinese society.
It was emphasized that the scriptures and the positive values of Buddhism allow different peoples and countries to live in harmony, build friendly bridges for mutual respect and joint development, as well as support the progress and peace of human civilization.
Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan acquainted the chairman of the Buddhist Association of China and the participants of the event with information about the centers of Buddhist culture in Uzbekistan and Buddhist monuments of our country. Information is also provided on the reforms carried out in our country to strengthen interethnic harmony and religious tolerance.
It was emphasized that representatives of more than 130 nationalities and peoples, 16 religious denominations, more than 2,200 religious organizations live in Uzbekistan, and the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan is aimed at strengthening interethnic harmony and religious tolerance.
Chairman of the Buddhist Association of China Yang Jue noted that he had heard many positive reviews about our country and people, praised the measures to preserve peace and stability in Uzbekistan, as well as its growing authority and success in the international arena.
At the end of the event, the Chinese side was presented with brochures in Chinese dedicated to Buddhist monuments located on the territory of our country, as well as an invitation to Uzbekistan for a delegation of representatives of the association.
