President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Kumtepa youth small industrial zone in the Uychinsky district of Namangan region.
The issues of developing professions and crafts that have historically developed in makhallas, turning them into drivers and thereby increasing employment and incomes of the population have now been raised to the level of state policy. Blacksmithing is developing in such mahallas of the Uychinsky district as Kumtepa, Dehkon, Balandarik and Zhiydakapa.
In 2021, an industrial zone specializing in blacksmithing was created here, with the necessary conditions for craftsmen and artisans working at home. Occupying three hectares, the complex is provided with all necessary infrastructure, including roads, power supply, drinking water supply and sewerage.
At the first stage, 52 projects were implemented here and more than 1,500 jobs were created. Craftsmen purchase raw materials from the Asia Metal Prof enterprise and the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, make gates, doors, canopies, grilles and other metal products from metal.
The demand for these products is high. Therefore, entrepreneurs have opened their trading houses and production branches in all regions. In addition, products worth $1.2 million were exported to neighboring countries.
Energy-saving methods are being introduced in the production process, and solar panels are being used effectively.
As part of the second stage, it is planned to implement 45 more projects on an area of two hectares. As a result, 1,330 new jobs will be created.
The President gave instructions to responsible persons on the effective use of the territory of the industrial zone, encouraging young people and unemployed citizens to engage in crafts.
The tasks of reducing unemployment by working at the mahalla level were also discussed here.
Based on the experience of Saikhunabad, 788 mahallas of 14 districts of the region are assigned to the heads and responsible employees of economic organizations. Together with the Makhalla "seven" they studied the possibilities of 557 thousand households.
- In Saikhunabad, I said that "this year will be the year of the awakening of life and the rise of our economy." The goal is to invest in human capital, encourage activity, and change the worldview. Uichi is also an economically difficult area. It is necessary to establish a new system here, to help the unemployed to extract income from the household plot, to open their own business, to realize their abilities," the President said.
The Head of State also visited the Kumtep mahalla center, got acquainted with the conditions created for the population.
About 5,2 thousand people live in the mahalla. Households specialize in metalworking, agriculture, and service provision.
This year, the appearance of the mahalla has improved. A new building was built for the gathering of citizens. All houses are connected to the water supply. Internal roads and power grids have been repaired. As part of the Yashil Makon program, fruit and ornamental trees have been planted along the roads.
The mahalla has a sewing workshop, a beauty salon, sports grounds, a medical center, a library, grocery stores and pharmacies.
A Business Support Center has also been established in the new mahalla building. Here, the population and entrepreneurs can use some government services. The President approved this, stressing the need to resolve issues related to government agencies, if possible in the mahallas themselves.
