On the occasion of the celebration of Navruz, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing organized a festive event with the participation of compatriots.
The event under the slogan "May the world be filled with light with you, Navruz!" was attended by compatriots studying and working in China, representatives of Chinese culture and the media, as well as Chinese students studying the Uzbek language.
The participants were told about the origin and history of Navruz, especially about the traditions associated with this holiday. It was emphasized that this day is the beginning of the Eastern New Year – the oldest, original national, most beloved holiday for our people.
The event included football competitions among compatriots, presentations of Uzbek national culture, special contests and traditional games for children.
The participants of the holiday also learned about the essence of the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in various fields and the modern development of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation.

The guests also enjoyed dishes of Uzbek national cuisine.
The compatriots shared their impressions with the correspondent of the news agency “Doone".
Behruzbek Abdunodirov, a student at Beijing University of Technology:
- I am very glad that we celebrate Navruz with our compatriots in joy and high spirits.
I must say that we always take an active part in cultural events organized by our Embassy and dedicated to our national holidays and important dates.
Traditionally, football competitions were organized among compatriots. Also here we listened to our national anthem, songs and enjoyed national dishes. Our Chinese friends also know the taste of Uzbek dishes. Traditional children's games gave the holiday a unique atmosphere.
Despite the fact that we are far from our homeland, it gives us great pleasure to keep up with our national traditions.
Mukhammadjon Raimov, a student at the University of Central Nations:
- Today, we, the Uzbeks in China, gathered to celebrate the favorite holiday of our people - Navruz. He passed in a very high mood. Here we made many new friends and shared news about our country.
During the event, we took part in a football tournament organized by the Embassy and took a place of honor. Our national songs and treats gave a special spirit to the holiday.
Congratulations to all our compatriots on Navruz.
