During a telephone conversation on February 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev cordially congratulated President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his 70th birthday.
The Head of our state warmly wished the Turkish leader good health, well-being and great success in responsible activities for the prosperity of the fraternal Turkish people and the country.
The role and contribution of President Recep Erdogan to the formation of modern Turkey and increasing its authority in the global arena, to achieving the current high level of Uzbek-Turkish relations of comprehensive strategic partnership were particularly noted.
The continued active contacts and exchanges at all levels, the growing dynamics in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation were noted with great satisfaction.
Last year, the number of joint ventures and projects increased significantly – by 365, as well as an investment portfolio with leading Turkish companies and organizations. The frequency of direct flights between the two countries has increased and, accordingly, the mutual flow of tourists.
The Heads of State paid special attention to the issues of careful preparation of the agenda of the next meeting of the Top-level Strategic Cooperation Council.
In this regard, the importance of strengthening the ongoing work within the framework of the Uzbek-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission was noted.
The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of regional cooperation, including within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
