President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation on increasing the tourist flow and expanding domestic tourism.
Our country is full of historical, cultural and natural attractions. The full-scale realization of their potential will give an impetus to the growth of the number of foreign tourists and their visits to our country all year round. To this end, on behalf of the President, measures have been developed to effectively exploit opportunities in tourism.
Thus, it is planned to create tourist centers in 12 of the most attractive areas and cities for tourists. These centers with restaurants, cafes, health facilities and swimming pools will be open around the clock.
Shops of international brands, national silk fabrics, souvenirs, jewelry and gold bars will be organized in the resort areas "Zaamin", "Chimgan", "Amirsai" and others, as well as in entertainment complexes. To do this, it is planned to reduce the tax rate on land and property from entrepreneurs operating in tourist centers by 90 percent by January 1, 2027, and to exempt equipment and technologies necessary for the production of jewelry and gold products from customs duties by March 1, 2026.
Also, starting this year, the program "One more day in Uzbekistan" will be implemented. It provides for the creation of "republican tourist rings" connecting tourist sites of the regions, and "regional tourist rings" between districts and cities. The Tourism Committee will maintain a unified register of tourist routes.
The implementation of the program "Travel in every season" is planned. Within its framework, measures will be implemented to promote environmental, extreme, medical and wellness tourism in spring and autumn, water and resort tourism in summer, extreme and ski tourism in winter. Festivals will be held by the opening of the tourist seasons.
Every two years in May, the International Fashion Week "Silk Fabrics of Uzbekistan" will be held with a prize fund of $ 2 million.
In order to promote the tourism potential of our country abroad, the institute of "tourism envoys" of the Tourism Committee will be introduced.
Measures will also be taken to support artisans, develop medical tourism, and introduce international experience into tourism education.
It is planned to allocate preferential loans for the construction of campgrounds, yurts, eco-houses and hostels, swimming pools in hotels. In order to support entrepreneurs, equipment and inventory for hotels and shopping complexes, swimming pools and water parks will be exempt from customs duties for 2 years.
The Head of State approved these proposals and gave instructions on the further development of ecotourism, creation of necessary conditions for travel of persons with disabilities.
