A reliable shield of the sacred borders. January 14 – Defenders of the Motherland Day

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan are the solid foundation of our independence and statehood, ensuring the territorial integrity of the country and the peaceful life of the people. Representatives of the sphere play an important role in educating the younger generation in the spirit of love for the Motherland.
In recent years, drastic measures have been taken to improve the organizational structures of the national army, which has made it possible to increase its combat readiness, military power and defense potential. Effective mechanisms have been created to ensure effective interaction between the branches of the armed forces, as well as units that can quickly perform the most difficult tasks. The level of combat and psychological training of military personnel has been increased.
The result of the reforms in the field of defense can be clearly seen by the example of how teams of Uzbek military personnel take pride of place in prestigious international military exercises and competitions.
Once upon a time, other parents tried to find ways not to send their children to military service. Today, with confidence and a sense of pride, they say: "Let my son also serve in the army." Serving in the army for our guys has become not only a military duty, but also a matter of honor.
In the fundamental reforms of the Armed Forces system, the important principle of "In the name of human honor and dignity" occupies a central place. Purposeful efforts on the ground strengthen the pride of the national army in the hearts of young people, awaken the desire to become a true defender of the Fatherland.
The Academy of the Armed Forces, the newly established Military Medical Academy, the Temurbeklar Maktabi military academic lyceums and other specialized educational institutions are engaged in the training of professional personnel for the national army. This has increased the interest and desire for military service among young people.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that our Armed Forces are literally an integral part of society, a reliable guarantee of the stability and development of the country, and the education of young people in the spirit of patriotism.
The Victory Park Memorial Complex, which includes the Shon Sharaf State Museum, is becoming a center of attraction for both military personnel and fellow citizens of the republic, especially young people. Military history is studied here, reflecting, among other things, the heroism and bravery of our great ancestors.
Service in remote military units, moving from garrison to garrison, overcoming hardships require a lot of patience not only from the serviceman, but also from his family. Therefore, it is important to ensure the social protection of representatives of the sphere.
From the first years as President, the head of our state has been paying special attention to reforming the national army, improving the organizational structure and deployment system of the Armed Forces, providing troops with modern weapons and equipment, improving combat training and combat readiness of military personnel and their professional skills. Over the past period, the mechanism of technical and backup supply of units has been radically revised, a system of outsourcing services and military clusters has been introduced. Enterprises of the military-industrial complex are actively developing, the process of localization of production and modernization of certain types of weapons and equipment is underway. Additional jobs have been created for military family members. Many military pensioners are employed. A lot of work has been done to increase the level of the country's defense capability, and the command and control system has been updated. Organizational and legal mechanisms have been put into practice to strengthen civil and parliamentary control over the activities of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies. In particular, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and its relevant committee have established the practice of systematically hearing information from the heads of law enforcement agencies on topical issues related to the implementation of policies in the field of military construction and public security.
For example, within the framework of these measures, parliamentary control is being carried out over how the relevant ministries and departments are working to educate young people in the military-patriotic spirit, as well as to teach initial pre-conscription training; conduct research and hearings on medical examinations of citizens called up for military service; contribute to improving the professional and moral and spiritual training of military personnel they check the targeted and effective spending of funds allocated from the State Budget and other relevant issues.
In the Year of Youth and Business Support, work will become more intensive and reach a whole new level. In particular, in military units, special attention will be paid to improving combat readiness, knowledge and skills of personnel, expanding the worldview of military personnel, and supporting professional and cultural interest. One of the most important areas remains social support for veterans of the sphere, military personnel, and their family members, improvement of material and medical support, and the construction of multi-storey buildings based on long-term preferential loans for military personnel in the regions.
At the meeting (dated January 2, 2024) chaired by the head of state on defense construction and development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, special attention was paid to this aspect. The issues of further improving the combat readiness and combat capability of the troops, equipping them with modern weapons and military equipment, modernizing existing weapons, military-patriotic education of the country's youth, as well as social security for military personnel, their families and veterans of the Armed Forces were discussed.
Thus, significant work has been done to improve the operational effectiveness of combat and spiritual and educational training of troops, management bodies, associations, formations and units, and higher military educational institutions. In particular, the practice of organizing clubs and sections in military camps in various disciplines, sports and arts for children and adolescents of families included in the "iron notebook", as well as their assignment to brigade commanders and commanders of military districts, has been established. With the strengthening of social protection for military personnel and their family members, the effectiveness of combat training of troops has increased, the professionalism of military personnel, their morale and psychological preparedness have significantly increased.
A new system of military personnel training based on advanced technologies has been introduced in the activities of military universities. In addition, special attention was paid to the digitalization of the military sphere. The phased introduction of modern automated command and control systems is underway, as well as the improvement of the communication system.
In the era of globalization and intense competition, armed conflicts and confrontations arising in different parts of the world require us to be vigilant and especially sensitive. In such a difficult period, the role and importance of our Armed Forces, security agencies and law enforcement agencies in ensuring the protection and peace, tranquility, and constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens are increasing. In this regard, it is more important than ever to organize work to ensure peace and security in our native Uzbekistan. That is why the Strategy "Uzbekistan - 2030" defines one of the urgent tasks as increasing the digital potential and ensuring the information security of the Armed Forces, deepening knowledge and strengthening the skills of military personnel in the use of modern information and communication technologies.
This policy document reflects the improvement of digital potential, strengthening the morale and potential of troops, the development of combat readiness and skill based on the study of modern armed conflicts, as well as the best practices of foreign armies. It is planned to carry out systematic work to strengthen cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the Armed Forces, increase the efficiency and level of coordination of interaction, regularly improve the system of training highly qualified military personnel, and widely introduce modern methods of military training into educational processes.
In short, strengthening the country's defense capability, providing troops with modern weapons and equipment, widespread use of information technology in unit management, combat training and professional skills will continue to be among the priorities.
