The fulfillment of the tasks set to prepare for winter was discussed



On December 12, a video conference was held under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at which the progress of the tasks for the sustainable conduct of the winter season was discussed.

Serious preparations have been made for the current winter season. Internal reserves have been fully utilized, and networks have been modernized. Deficiencies in institutions, mahallas and enterprises have been eliminated.

Systematic work has been established to create additional energy capacities. As a result, 675 megawatt capacities were put into operation in a short time, and 7 2.2 thousand megawatt stations will be launched by the end of the year. In addition, 100 substations, 11.5 thousand transformers and 34 thousand kilometers of power grids have been updated.

The situation in the city of Tashkent, where population density and electricity consumption are high, was separately touched upon. In particular, 2 new substations with a total capacity of 286 megawatts have been built in the capital. 228 transformers and 1,130 kilometers of networks have been updated. 260 kilometers of high-voltage cable lines have been laid.

The Head of our State stressed the need to continue these works and complete the activities planned by the training program in a short time.

The meeting also discussed disruptions and problems observed in the energy system of some regions. The President paid special attention to the opinions of the population expressed on social networks.

For example, there are interruptions in fuel supplies at gas filling stations in the Namangan region. In Balykchi, Pakhtaabad, Marhamat and Andijan districts, problems with electricity supply have worsened due to the cold weather. There are reports that the lights often go out in the Guzar and Kasbiy districts of Kashkadarya region.

The Head of State once again stressed the need to promptly eliminate such shortcomings and prevent them in the future. The heads of electric grid and gas supply enterprises were instructed to prepare emergency crews and ensure their round-the-clock operation, increase the stock of necessary tools and materials.

A new coal supply system has been launched this year. As a result of timely measures, 5 million 900 thousand tons of coal were extracted. 930 thousand tons were supplied to the population, and another 93 thousand tons were supplied for the social sphere.

It was instructed to ensure daily control over the supply of coal from warehouses in the regions to the population and social facilities, to create the necessary supply of coal at facilities where the heating system has been transferred to private partners.

The importance of rational use of energy resources and the suppression of cases of their illegal consumption was emphasized.

It is determined that from this day on, all law enforcement agencies and social infrastructure services will be switched to round-the-clock operation.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the creation of favorable conditions for the celebration of the New Year.

It was noted that cultural events will be held at a high level, entertainment programs and services will be expanded. Fairs with reduced prices will be organized in the markets. The Prosecutor General's Office will supervise attempts to unreasonably inflate prices.

It is pointed out the importance of ensuring stable operation of public transport, high-quality passenger service in the metro and buses. The issues of improving conditions at bus stops, cleaning roads and improving road safety were also touched upon.

The meeting heard the report of the Government Commission on Winter Preparations and other officials.
