The President of Uzbekistan discussed with the delegation of Saudi Arabia projects for the development of a full-scale partnership

On November 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of Saudi Arabia headed by the Minister of Investments of the Kingdom Khalid al-Falih.

Topical issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted cooperation and full-scale partnership, including the unconditional practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, were considered.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Investments conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and best wishes from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud.

The Head of our state noted with great satisfaction the dynamic development of mutually beneficial cooperation in recent years.

The indicators of mutual trade and the volume of Saudi direct investments in the economy of Uzbekistan are growing, primarily in the field of "green" energy, the frequency of direct flights is increasing.

With the support of the Saudi Development Fund, a number of socially significant projects are being implemented in the field of healthcare, education, water supply and other areas.

A joint fund for the expansion of economic opportunities of Uzbekistan is being created.

During the current visit of the Saudi delegation, agreements were signed on the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in the fields of chemistry, energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, IT and infrastructure development in the amount of $ 12 billion.

The importance of accelerating the implementation of major energy projects in various regions of our country was emphasized.

An agreement was also reached to promote new projects and programs totaling $11 billion in the field of transport infrastructure and utilities, geology, irrigation, household waste recycling, higher education, and labor migration.

The fruitful partnership with ACWA Power, which is the largest investor and strategic partner in the development of green energy in Uzbekistan, was particularly emphasized. Currently, the company is implementing projects worth 7.5 billion dollars.

The President of our country welcomed the launch of a modern thermal power plant with a capacity of 1.5 gigawatts in the Syrdarya region and the start of construction of a pilot production of "green hydrogen" in the Tashkent region.

The ceremony of awarding Minister Khalid al-Falih with the Order of "Dostlik" for his great contribution and comprehensive support for the development of multifaceted and mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia was also held.
