The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Iran discussed ways to further expand bilateral cooperation

On November 9, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi as part of the program of events of the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in our capital.

Issues of further strengthening of Uzbek-Iranian relations, expansion of practical cooperation in the field of trade, investment, innovation and transport were discussed.

The ongoing active mutual contacts were noted with satisfaction.

The dynamics of growth in the volume of bilateral trade remains. Cooperation projects are being implemented jointly in various sectors of the economy.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of full-scale implementation of previously reached agreements at the highest level.

The possibilities for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation and localization, the agricultural sector, logistics are emphasized.

The heads of Uzbekistan and Iran supported the development of cultural, humanitarian and scientific exchange.

Issues on the regional agenda were also discussed, including in the context of the current situation in Afghanistan
