Within the framework of the program of events of the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan headed by Prime Minister Anwar ul-Haq Kakar.
Topical issues of further deepening of bilateral cooperation, primarily in the trade and economic, investment, transport and communication spheres, were discussed.
Active contacts at various levels were noted with satisfaction. The volumes of mutual trade turnover and cargo transportation are growing – these indicators have increased by 40 percent since the beginning of the year. Cooperation projects are being implemented in the textile, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries. 20 joint ventures have been established.
The importance of the early adoption of the Industrial Cooperation Program for 2024-2025, the elimination of trade barriers and the creation of favorable conditions for the development of business ties was emphasized.
Special attention is paid to the practical implementation of the Trans-Afghan Railway construction project.
There was also an exchange of views on issues of the regional agenda.
