President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Kashkadarya region on October 24 to get acquainted with the development of the regions.
The solution of regional development issues with a visit directly to the field, based on the dialogue of the people and the study of the opinion of the population is an integral feature of the policy pursued by the head of our state. The main purpose of the visits to the regions is to improve the living standards of the villagers, industrialize the districts, increase jobs, and improve social conditions.
These features are also evident during the trip to Kashkadarya region, which began with familiarization with the sewing enterprise of the Sulton Tex Group cluster.
The enterprise was put into operation last year as a result of a project with a total cost of 8 million 200 thousand dollars. Thanks to modern technologies and equipment, the production capacity of 5 million units of sewing and knitting products per year has been created.
It is noteworthy that the cluster has established exports on the principle of “new products – a new country”. Today, high-quality goods are fully exported to countries such as the USA, Canada, Poland, Singapore and Russia. Accordingly, high indicators of income and labor productivity are achieved. About 3 thousand people work in the entire cluster chain from cotton cultivation to the production of finished products.
The President got acquainted with the work process of the enterprise. The importance of such projects for the region's economy and employment was emphasized. It is indicated to the responsible persons that the opportunities in this area are not being fully used.
"Creating decent living conditions for the population, especially rural residents, should be the basis of our reforms," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Kashkadarya region produces the most cotton in our country. But the volume of processing and transformation of raw materials into a finished product does not correspond to this potential. If we set up fabric manufacturing and painting, it will be possible to employ an additional 60 thousand young people and women in the districts.
To this end, the company "Sulton Styles" implements the program "20 thousand entrepreneurs – 500 thousand qualified specialists". A practical monocenter has been created and the unemployed population is being trained in textile business. This process is two-stage: first, women are trained in the use of machinery and equipment at the enterprise, as well as labor safety rules. At the next stage, they are attached to mentors and acquire practical knowledge and skills directly at the workplace.
Here, the head of state was presented with tourism development projects in Shakhrisabz, Kitab and Kamashinsky districts. Instructions are given for further development of infrastructure in villages, their inclusion in tourist routes, and expansion of income sources of residents.
