The meeting analyzed the indicators expected by the end of this year.
The Head of our state stressed that the difficult and uncertain situation in the world negatively affects the economy, therefore it is necessary to use more domestic opportunities to continue sustainable economic growth.
That is why the value added tax has been reduced from 15 to 12 percent since 2023. Due to this, additional funds for 7 trillion soums remained at the disposal of entrepreneurs.
Also, 35 trillion soums have been allocated to improve the infrastructure of the regions, 19 trillion soums for social support of the population.
As a result, with the world economy projected to grow by 3 percent this year, the national economy is expected to grow by at least 5.6 percent.
Measures to maintain stable economic growth rates in 2024 were discussed in detail at the meeting.
As you know, the Strategy "Uzbekistan – 2030" adopted in September this year defines many goals and objectives for sustainable economic development and improving the welfare of the population. The government has been instructed to carefully work out the economic program for 2024 through the prism of fulfilling the tasks laid down in the strategy.
It is indicated that there are all opportunities and reserves to continue the current growth rates of gross domestic product next year.
In particular, in 2024, there is a possibility of industry growth by 6 percent due to the launch of more than 300 projects worth $ 13 billion, stabilization of energy supply and increasing the efficiency of industries.
It was noted that in order to ensure a 15% growth in the service sector, it is necessary to fully use unused opportunities in such areas as transport, logistics, agricultural services, insurance, leasing.
The Head of State stressed the need to intensify the reforms initiated in the fields of transport, water and utilities, pay special attention to the support of the population and business.
