Uzbekistan and China strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of sericulture

Uzbek diplomats held a meeting in Beijing with the leadership of the Chinese Silk Corporation with the participation of representatives of the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and the Wool Industry of Uzbekistan.  

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the development of the silk industry of the republic, attracting modern knowledge and technologies to the industry, expanding the volume of domestic products.  

During the meeting, information was provided on the reforms carried out in the silk sector of the economy of Uzbekistan, the country's opportunities in this area and the conditions created for foreign investors.

The parties discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects to further develop cooperation, improve the quality of Uzbek silk and expand its export to world markets.

During the talks, the sides also exchanged views on the organization of trainings and training courses with the broad involvement of specialists from large Chinese companies, educational and scientific institutions to further improve the quality of raw silk produced in Uzbekistan, the organization of special storage facilities for storage and expansion of wholesale and retail trade in Uzbek silk.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop specific project proposals on the issues discussed and to hold additional negotiations in the near future in a working manner.
