On October 17, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong as part of the program of events of his working visit to China.
The issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, were discussed.
It should be noted that Vietnam is an important traditional partner of Uzbekistan in the Asia-Pacific region. In recent years, contacts at various levels have intensified, the volume of mutual trade and the number of joint ventures are growing. Projects in the field of agriculture and fish farming are being implemented.
The possibilities of cooperation between leading companies in the oil and gas complex, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical, textile, footwear, furniture, food and other industries, including within the framework of special economic zones and industrial parks, were noted.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Vietnam also called for the development of exchanges in the field of culture, education and tourism.
