The President of Uzbekistan received the head of Citigroup Corporation

On September 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Chairman of the largest American financial corporation "Citigroup" John Dugan within the framework of the program of stay in New York city.

The Head of our state noted with satisfaction the fruitful cooperation with the American corporation, with the assistance of which the bonds of Uzbek banks and state-owned enterprises were successfully placed on international stock markets.

The leader of Uzbekistan also supported Citigroup's plans to open a representative office of a subsidiary of Citibank in our country.

The meeting discussed issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of the banking and financial sector, the introduction of effective tools to increase the attractiveness and liquidity of securities on the stock market, attracting foreign investors to the capital market of our country.

Agreements have been reached on the adoption of a "roadmap" to expand cooperation with the American corporation, indicating effective mechanisms and specific deadlines for implementation.
