President of Uzbekistan supported plans to expand strategic partnership with Saudi company ACWA Power

On August 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Chairman of the Board of ACWA Power company Muhammad Abunayyan.

The issues of further expansion of practical cooperation with the Saudi company and acceleration of priority projects in our country were discussed in detail.

The Head of our state noted with particular satisfaction the achieved level of fruitful partnership with ACWA Power, which is today the largest investor in the development and modernization of the energy industry of Uzbekistan.

Special attention was paid to the promotion of projects for the construction of modern thermal power plants, wind and solar generation facilities, energy infrastructure, production of "green" hydrogen, localization of equipment and components based on advanced technological solutions.

In addition, the importance of continuing the work on attracting leading Saudi companies and banking institutions to Uzbekistan within the framework of the joint Business Council, co-chaired by Muhammad Abunayyan, was stressed.

At the end of the meeting, the chairman of ACWA Power expressed deep gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the high appreciation of his activities and the presentation of the state award - the Order of "Dostlik".
