The President of Uzbekistan arrived in the city of Fuzuli

On the second day of the state visit to Azerbaijan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his wife arrived in the city of Fuzuli.

The distinguished guests were greeted by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife.

The city got its name in honor of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli.

Until the nineties of the last century, industry and agriculture developed in the Fuzuli district. There were libraries, houses of culture, clubs, museums, theaters, parks and other cultural objects.

In 2020, large-scale restoration work began in the Fuzuli district and the city of the same name. An international airport, a modern residential complex have already been built in the city, residential blocks, medical and educational institutions are being built. The restoration of Fuzuli is planned to be completed by 2026.
