Acrylic fiber is a new direction in the New Uzbekistan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the Sievush Textile enterprise in the Kagan district of Bukhara region.

Previously, there was a vacant lot on the site where the enterprise now stands. To create conditions for entrepreneurs, the territory was included in the Gijduvon free economic zone, the necessary infrastructure was brought here, as a result, conditions for industry appeared.

In particular, the project of the limited liability company “Sievush Textile” worth $ 36 million was completed last month. The company is able to produce 40 thousand tons of acrylic yarn per year. 600 jobs have been created.

"This is a new direction in the New Uzbekistan," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. – The textile industry in our country is developing dynamically. If enterprises strive to create added value and earn more income, they need to at least partially master acrylic. Its products cost 5 times more. This includes profit, stability, and jobs. Therefore, the state, stimulating the processing of cotton, will now also comprehensively help the production of artificial fibers.

The company has completed the first stage of the project and is currently working with foreign partners to expand its activities. The plans are to fully localize the production of acrylic fiber and finished products from it at the next stage. The number of jobs will reach 1.2 thousand.
