- Football is a favorite sport in Uzbekistan. We can say that nine out of ten people are interested in him. Taking advantage of this popularity, football needs to be radically developed. For example, there are 10,000 schools in our country, 208 districts and cities. So, what will football be like at school, in the mahalla, in teams? What should we do to ensure that children who love football realize themselves in this area? Thirdly, we need to think about what young people who have completed a football career will do, what additional profession to teach them," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The Head of State also talked with young football players.
- Our people love football very much. Football as a "family friend". We are all watching the performances of our national team with pride and great excitement. In the family you are the children of your parents, and in the field you are the children of all our people. Always remember this," the President said.
The importance of forming a sense of homeland among football players was noted.
- Football players travel around the world, play in foreign teams. They should know the history and conditions of Uzbekistan well. They are our goodwill ambassadors, a model for children," the head of state said.
