On July 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation.

The Leader of Kazakhstan cordially congratulated the head of our state on his birthday, warmly wishing health, well-being and new successes, as well as peace and prosperity to the fraternal Uzbek people.

The leaders discussed in detail the issues of further expansion and deepening of good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership and alliance.

The productive results of the regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent and the joint Working Group in Astana were noted with satisfaction.

The importance of continuing active efforts to increase the volume of trade turnover, promote cooperation projects in industries and infrastructure, as well as the development of intensive humanitarian exchange through regular joint cultural events was emphasized.

The sides exchanged views on regional cooperation issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest level.
