During a visit to Chilanzar district in 2019, the head of our state visited the Orient Ceramics enterprise and noted the prospects for expanding its activities.
Over the past period, the company has built another plant - on the territory of the Sergeli district, equipped with advanced foreign technologies. Production began in June of this year, 450 people are provided with work.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the plant today, inspected its products.
The cost of the project is $ 42 million, and the annual production capacity is 10 million square meters of tiles and granite products. The products are several times cheaper than foreign analogues, as they are produced almost 100 percent from local raw materials. Quality, a wide choice of colors and sizes ensure the competitiveness of products.
Previously, granite tiles of large sizes were not produced in our country. Now it is possible not only to replace imports, but also to export half of the output.
The Head of State gave instructions on the implementation of new projects based on the experience of this enterprise.
There was also a conversation with the khokims of the districts of the city of Tashkent. They reported on the ongoing work on the development of entrepreneurship, employment, and infrastructure projects being implemented.
– As a result of our reforms and the opportunities provided to the regions, the worldview of the Khokims is changing. Today, the districts of Tashkent set themselves big goals. The most important issues are reducing unemployment, attracting investment and exports. Here we have started the program “20 thousand entrepreneurs – 500 thousand qualified specialists". It also opens up great opportunities for both the population and entrepreneurs. Another important task is the implementation of the national program “Yashil Makon". It is necessary to continue measures for planting seedlings, creating parks, increasing the number of green areas, places for recreation of the population," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The khokims were instructed to study advanced foreign experience in the field of entrepreneurship, digitalization, and services.
