The mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) to observe the early presidential elections in Uzbekistan, in its preliminary conclusions, positively assessed the organizational aspects of the electoral process.
Thus, the ODIHR statement notes that, despite the tight preparatory deadlines, the organizers effectively carried out the technical preparation of the elections and observed all the time limits established by law.
Another positive aspect was that the CEC regularly held sessions where complaints and messages received by the lower level election commissions were heard. At the same time, information about disputes related to the elections was not hidden. Particularly important, according to observers, is that most of the decisions and resolutions of the CEC were published on time. All this undoubtedly increased the transparency and openness of the electoral process.
