Shavkat Mirziyoyev voted in the elections



President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, presidential candidate from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited polling station No. 59 in Tashkent on July 9 with family members and voted in the elections.

As you know, following the results of the referendum held on April 30 of this year, the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted in a new edition, which consolidated the country's status as a legal, secular and social state, and also increased the obligations of state bodies. The updated Constitution has put forward new political, socio-economic tasks for the state authorities.

In this regard, the Head of State addressed the people and, in accordance with article 128 of the Constitution, called early presidential elections. This decision was supported by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, political parties and representatives of the public.

The Central Election Commission has registered candidates from 4 political parties. 14 electoral districts and 19 thousand polling stations were formed. Equal and free conditions have been created for all candidates to participate in the elections.

The presidential election is an important political event of decisive importance for the current life and future of the country, the well–being of our people. Deeply aware of this, citizens take an active part in the elections.

The elections are observed by 749 observers from 47 States and 15 reputable international organizations, the voting process is widely covered by the media.
