The issues of preparation and holding of the upcoming presidential elections were discussed at the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the head of the mission of the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) Ursula Gacek, who passed on July 3.
The Head of our state noted with deep satisfaction the established constructive dialogue, active exchanges, open and fruitful cooperation with the OSCE.
The Bureau's experts took part in the modernization of the national electoral system, including the development of the Electoral Code of our country.
The OSCE/ODIHR mission also participated in the observation of the constitutional referendum held on April 30 this year.
During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on various aspects of holding a popular vote in accordance with international standards.
The head of the ODIHR mission, Ursula Gachek, expressed support for the irreversible processes of further deepening democratic transformations and socio-economic reforms in the New Uzbekistan. The measures being implemented to conduct transparent and fair elections in our country were noted.
