Within the framework of the program of the 25th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), held in the city of Samarkand, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a Declaration on awarding Samarkand the status of the "World Capital of Cultural Tourism" and an Agreement on the establishment of the International Academy of Tourism were adopted.
