On March 6, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the leadership of the Supreme Court.
Consultations were held at the event on the results of the study of proposals received from our people on amendments and additions to the Constitution.
The deputies carefully studied each of the more than 200 thousand proposals sent by the public, while taking into account international experience, leading specialists and experts from various fields were involved.
Based on the results of several months of study, the final version of the draft Constitutional Law on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been prepared.
Due to the fact that the draft law contains the most important changes in the socio-economic, political spheres and public administration, before submitting the bill to a referendum, deputies consult with the subjects of legislative initiative defined in article 83 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In this process, the Parliament and the Government, representatives of the public express their proposals and opinions on the draft law.
It was noted that this bill will be considered separately by the Constitutional Court, which will give its opinion.
