The Head of State got acquainted with the life of the population during his visit to the Yangi Batosh mahalla of the Karshi district.
More than 4 thousand people live here. The mahalla is being improved, entrepreneurship is developing. There is a textile enterprise, a pharmacy, a mini-bank, shops and consumer service points.
A home-based center is being created in the mahalla. The President got acquainted with the conditions created in it.
In addition to the production of sewing, leather goods and carpets, professional training of homeworkers is conducted here. Based on the study conducted by the assistant of the khokim and a women's activist, masters are assigned to unemployed citizens based on their interests and preferences. Those who have fully mastered the profession are allocated the necessary tools and raw materials so that they fulfill orders at home. Contracts concluded between the customer and homeworkers are entered by the assistant of the khokim into the Unified National Labor System.
The Head of State instructed to provide the artisans of the center with raw materials, and in densely populated mahallas to allocate separate rooms for homeworkers in colleges.
- Mahalla is the biggest foundation for learning a craft. Using the traditions of masters and students, many young people can be trained and employed on the basis of home work. For them, especially women, it will be both moral and material support," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
In addition to the Yangi Batosh mahalla, the center also serves such neighboring mahallas as Batosh, Honien, Tarakkiet, Dasht, Zhumabozor. Having reached full capacity, it will help to provide employment for about 24 thousand people.
