Uzbekistan and Egypt strengthen comprehensive cooperation

During the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Arab Republic of Egypt, a ceremony of signing documents on the results of the Uzbek-Egyptian negotiations at the highest level was held.

The Heads of State adopted a joint statement aimed at expanding cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and educational spheres.

In the presence of the Presidents, a number of bilateral documents were also signed providing for the development of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the General Directorate for Investment of Egypt, cooperation in the field of quarantine and plant protection, public health organization, investment attraction and strengthening of bilateral investment relations, technical regulation, exchange of experience on development issues.

Memoranda of understanding were also signed between the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan and the Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies of Uzbekistan with the National Library and Archive of Egypt.
