The SCO Secretariat has widely noted Navruz

Today, a festive event dedicated to Navruz was held in the building of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing, the correspondent of the news agency "Dunyo" reports.

The event was organized by the SCO Secretariat in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan as the presiding country in the Shanghai Organization.

The heads of diplomatic missions of the SCO family countries, representatives of ministries and departments, socio-political, scientific and academic circles and the media of China took part in the celebration.

Within the framework of the event, a musical program was held with performances by each delegation from the SCO member states, observers and dialogue partners.

The delegations also organized an exhibition of national dishes, as well as objects of folk and applied art. In the section of Uzbekistan, objects of folk and applied art, dishes of national cuisine were widely presented. The guests were able to enjoy unique Uzbek dishes, songs and dances.

The participants of the event noted that the stand of Uzbekistan admires every time with its beauty, exquisite design and abundance of such cultural and handicraft products as suzane, adras, national costumes and ceramic figurines.

During his speech, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Farkhod Arziyev sincerely congratulated the participants of the event on the Navruz holiday and noted this national holiday, which has been preserving noble traditions and spiritual values for a long time, is widely celebrated in many countries of the SCO family in an atmosphere of peace and stability.

It was stressed that the ideals of Navruz largely coincide with the "Shanghai spirit" and therefore the celebration of Navruz has a deep meaning and special significance in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between our peoples, mutual enrichment and rapprochement of cultures of the SCO "family" countries.

The guests of the event were also informed about the events being implemented jointly with partners within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the SCO.
