President of Uzbekistan reviews progress of major investment projects with Saudi Arabia

On the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the head of ACWA Power, Mohammad Abunayyan.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed issues related to expanding partnership relations and accelerating the implementation of joint projects.

The Head of State highly praised the activities of ACWA Power, which is a key partner of Uzbekistan in the field of green energy. As noted, new investment initiatives launched last December, including projects for the construction of solar and wind power plants, are being consistently implemented in line with agreed plans.

During the conversation, special attention was paidto promising areas of cooperation. In particular, the parties discussed the launch of the construction of the New Tashkent International Airport, the establishment of a multidisciplinary medical facility in the city of Fergana, and the commissioning of a modern data center within the IT Park.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Saudi investors expressed appreciation for the ongoing reforms and the favorable investment environment in Uzbekistan, and reaffirmed their readiness for the high-quality and timely implementation of projects.
