Welcoming speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the celebrations dedicated to the national holiday of Navruz

Dear compatriots!

Dear guests!

Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you, all our multinational people on the New year according to the Eastern calendar – the Navruz holiday.

I wish you all peace and tranquility, good health, happiness and great success.

Today, in these wonderful moments, I wholeheartedly congratulate our compatriots abroad on the Navruz holiday, express my respect and best wishes to them.

Dear friends!

We are always looking forward to the coming of Nowruz, the spring update.

I think you will agree with me that this year we are meeting Navruz with special joy and hopes. For the last two years, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we could not celebrate our favorite holiday widely, at a high level. And finally, after a long wait, we all meet Navruz together again with great enthusiasm.

Today we are celebrating Navruz together with you at the Humo Palace, because, as you can all see, in recent weeks a cold snap with continuous precipitation has come to our country.

At the same time, we are well aware that rains are for us a harbinger of abundance and prosperity, well–being and prosperity.  And we are grateful to the Almighty for this.

Our great ancestor, the encyclopedic scientist Hakim Termizi in his book "Navruznoma" wrote: "If Navruz falls on Monday, it rains and snows, then agriculture will be successful, harvests will be rich, and the year will be prosperous." I am sure that these words are in tune with the good aspirations of our people, who are meeting Navruz today - on Monday.

Dear participants of the celebration!

In order to continue large-scale reforms in the country, we have adopted the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan and the state program "Year of Ensuring Human Interests and Mahalla Development".

Our people are entering a new stage of national development with noble goals and great practical achievements. A vivid confirmation of this can be seen today on the example of every family, mahalla, every village, aul and city.

Hundreds of modern enterprises, roads and communication networks, comfortable housing, kindergartens, schools and universities, healthcare, culture and sports institutions are being built in the country. Residential areas and gardens, parks of culture and recreation are being created in all regions, to which we give the name "New Uzbekistan".

Along with the programs "Landscaped Mahalla" and "Landscaped Village", a nationwide project "Green Edge" is being implemented throughout the country.

On these beautiful days, our people draw strength, energy and inspiration from the noble traditions of Navruz, hold hasharahs, plant trees and flowers. We can say that the whole of Uzbekistan is imbued with the spirit of creation and celebration.

Dear friends!

As you know, there are many different holidays and significant dates in the world. But I must say that Navruz occupies a special place in the glorification of the honor and dignity of a person.

Navruz teaches us to always cherish our native land, cherish every sprout, feeling like a part of nature, calls for mercy, humanism and generosity.

At this wonderful time, we are especially deeply aware of the priceless wealth of peace and tranquility, their great importance. We understand even more our responsibility for ensuring the prosperous life of the people in today's turbulent and anxious time, for the future of children and grandchildren, clear skies over our Homeland.

We are certainly proud that Navruz has become a truly national holiday in Uzbekistan, the most beloved and revered by all our compatriots, regardless of their nationality, language and religion.

It is on these days that interethnic friendship, mutual respect, spiritual generosity and mercy are even more clearly manifested on our fertile land. As a practical embodiment of our good deeds to exalt the honor and dignity of a person, we all visit relatives and friends, the sick, the elderly and people with disabilities, families in need of support and attention, we help them, give them the warmth of our hearts.

We must cherish such admirable centuries-old traditions and continue to educate our children on these humanistic values.

Taking this opportunity, we congratulate all our foreign friends and partners, representatives of the diplomatic corps participating in today's celebration on the International Navruz Day, and wish their countries and peoples peace, prosperity and prosperity.

Dear compatriots!

Tomorrow, another wonderful holiday will be celebrated in our country – Mahalla Day.

For each of us, the mahalla is, as they say, a small homeland. We inextricably associate the honor and dignity of a person with the mahalla.

Peace in the mahalla is peace in the whole country. A prosperous mahalla is a prosperous country.

That is why we attach special importance to increasing its role and place in our lives, expanding its powers and opportunities.

Based on the principle of "in the context of the mahalla", our work is rising to a new level to improve living conditions and quality of life, protect public health, solve social problems, train women and youth in modern professions, provide jobs and housing, and support the institution of the family.

The criterion for the activity of managers and officials at all levels is serving the country and the people, solving their pressing problems in practice.

Taking this opportunity, I sincerely congratulate and wish new successes to the chairmen and activists of mahallas, venerable veterans, respected women, people's deputies, assistants to khokims and youth leaders, all our compatriots who work conscientiously to improve people's lives.

Dear friends!

In these bright days, our skilled farmers and farmers, gardeners and animal breeders with good mood and good thoughts go out into fields and gardens, to green pastures. We heartily welcome them all and wish them: may the harvest be rich and high - the people's hirman!

Dear compatriots!

Navruz and youth are concepts close in essence and spirit. We are once again convinced of this when we look with pride at millions of our energetic and purposeful young men and women.

In these exciting moments, I want to address our young generation, who are entering life with good hopes and aspirations.

My dear sons and daughters, you live in an independent, free and prosperous country. This is undoubtedly priceless wealth, great happiness and at the same time a huge responsibility. After all, tomorrow it is up to you to continue the very important creative work that we – parents, teachers and mentors – have begun.

Already today you should be ready to fulfill this great mission, deeply master modern knowledge and professions, as the apple of your eye to protect your native Uzbekistan, be devoted to your country and people.

Remember - it is not so easy to reach the high milestones that we strive for.

The third Renaissance in the New Uzbekistan will be built by the present and future generations, all our people.

I am sure that you will further glorify our Homeland to the whole world as the new Khorezmi, Ferghani, Beruni, Ibn Sino, Ulugbek, Navoi and Babur.

I wish you all new successes and achievements on this path.

Master modern knowledge and professions, be harmoniously developed, always strive forward to high frontiers!

Dear compatriots!

On this significant day, I once again congratulate you and all our people from the bottom of my heart on the Navruz holiday.

May Navruz bring peace, kindness and prosperity to each of us, to every home!

May the life of our dear fathers and mothers be long and joyful, and all the good hopes of our dear women will come true!

May our children and grandchildren be happy!

May our native Uzbekistan prosper!

Happy Navruz holiday to all of you!
