A briefing on the upcoming parliamentary elections has been organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing

The Embassy of our country in Beijing held a briefing for representatives of the Chinese media on the upcoming elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local Councils of People's Deputies, which will be held on October 27 in Uzbekistan.

The briefing participants were informed in detail about the course of the election campaign, election processes, party platforms, legislative aspects and innovations in the electoral system.

It was noted that elections play an important role in the implementation of constitutional principles, the implementation of democratic reforms in the country and the strengthening of the role of the Oliy Majlis in the transformation of the state and society.

It was emphasized that the parliamentary elections will be held on the basis of the updated Constitution, in accordance with electoral legislation and international norms.

The briefing participants were informed that the number of women candidates is increasing in the upcoming elections.

More than a thousand international observers, representatives of international organizations, and foreign election commissions from around the world will take part in the election observation.

Some participants of the briefing shared their opinions in an interview with the news agency "Doone".

Correspondent of CGTN English TV channel Liu Jiaxin:

- I am very glad to be invited to Uzbekistan from China to cover the upcoming parliamentary elections.

This is my first trip to your country. But I have read and heard a lot about Uzbekistan, about tourist attractions and beautiful historical cities.

Thanks to today's event organized at the embassy, I was able to learn more about the upcoming elections in Uzbekistan. I was interested to learn about the great attention paid by the State to the participation of women in the political life of the country. The number of female candidates for deputies by political parties is increasing from 30 to 40.

It is also impressive that the age of the candidates participating in the elections does not exceed 47 years, and the youngest of them is 25 years old.

I wish you a successful election.

Editor of the publication "Beijing Psearch Media" Mingmei:

- Our company works closely with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing in publishing magazines and publishing articles to introduce Chinese readers to your country.

Today it is a great honor for me to participate in the briefing, where I was able to get more information about the upcoming important political event.

I am confident that the parliamentary elections will strengthen the foundations for the further well-being of Uzbekistan, democratization and development of the parliamentary system.
